their site says that its both smokable and can be used a hatchet. does anyone have any expirience with it? can anyone pass jdgment on it? its expencive to make that mistake with, you know?

I've read on a German forum, that they are supposedly pretty good. However, it was a single comment by a single user.

To be honest, I have also been thinking about getting one, but they just look too flimsy for me on the pics I have found so far.

My good friend has two of them... we have smoked from them, they are definitely functional, but IMO they are really just best served as wall hangers. I think that they are well made, fit and finish is really very nice. But i just wouldn't use them for any kind of chopping or throwing. CAS Hanwei typically makes pretty high quality product and i dont think these are any different. I dont real know how else to describe them. The head sits right on the end of the haft which seems a little strange, and probably not the best for durability, but i would say go for it, they are nicely made and make a good piece for home

i dont intend to use it for much of anything but smoking, the most id probably with it, is stick a in a log next my camp seat between bowl. i have CS pipehawk, that i use for chopping ect.

btw how does it smoke as a pipe, im a pipe smoker myself and im curious how it smokes.
