CAS Henwei Trondheim Viking

It would help to know what the biggest selling features for you are? The Trondheim is one-piece pattern welded. Is the one-piece construction more important than other details? Are you wanting something pattern welded above all else? Do you want something that handles like a really well made sword from that place and time but are less concerned with whether it is pattern welded, etc.? The Trondheim is on the shorter end of the spectrum as well and a bit less blade-weighted from what I can see. Does this matter?

Show piece? Occasional cutter? Costume piece? Wanting a 'real' sword for whatever reason?

You could get a lot of different answers depending on what you are looking for. For example,y ou can get an Albion or an Arms and Armor Viking sword without scabbard for that price and both of these tend to get outstanding reviews from experienced buyers but they won't be pattern welded...

Not trying to challenge you or hammer you with questions, just looking for more reasons why you were drawn to this particular sword so we can do a better job of giving you feedback.

Looking for a serious working sword in that price area.
No toy, no reenactor, no wall-hanger.
Sturdy, good steel, no obvious weaknesses in grip area sections.

Don't trust a $159 version. :)

Haven't looked at those recently, I will.
Serious swords?

I've got an older Henwei Godfred that somebody here told me was not up to snuff when I first got it, wondered if Henwei's offerings were a "cut" above now, comparable to others, or below standard.

Can't get on the Albion site.
The two "Vikings" on A&A have what appear to be poorly cast pommels. No problem with a casting, as such, those just look cheap & indistinctly defined on my screen.

Yeah, Albion doesn't seem to be working for me right now either. However, you can check out their offerings on a certain kultish site as well...
