... probably no one else has any experience with the CAS Iberia. Certainly not I. That being said could I please play devil's advocate?
- the CAS seems awfully cheap. You may not want to take a chance unless you can actually handle it, i.e. no internet or mail order purchase unless you are ready to return it.
- some guys like their cold steel hawks. Maybe you are better off with your CS and trying to figger out a way to keep your handle on.
- does your handle fly off every time or just when it strikes the target with the handle instead of the hawk head? You need to give more info on this problem. Maybe we can noodle through a solution on a new thread.
- if I were to recommend another hawk I would strongly consider H&B . You can't go wrong with these guys and they are forged steel. They are @ 3x's the cost of the CAS Iberia, but they are the real deal at a reasonable price. Another poster mentioned Ft. Turner hawks. They look good too and are also forged steel heads. Mine is a M&W Blackhawk. The M&W is cast, but has not failed me after years of use.
- you can only throw one hawk at a time unless you miss the target completely the first time. Otherwise you are looking for hawk damage. This means that as a thrower you probably only ever need one hawk. Wanting is a different story. Far be it for me or anyone else to talk you out of getting one or more hawks!
My advice, play it safe. Get a proven design. But then again the CAS might be a good product, but I doubt it.
