Has case stopped making the 47 pattern and if so when?

I have seen alot of 6347 and they are good looking knives that are 3 & 7/8"

I think they may still be available in stainless and I've seen on vendor sites the raindrop damascus model.

The 47 is a great pattern in both the stockman (6347) as well as the double-end (two blade) premium jack versions. (06247 and 06247PEN)

They still make the 6347 as a standard catalog knife with SS blades and amber bone handles.

Case changes their line constantly so other variations in handle material may come and go - check the Case or Shepherd Hills web sites.

But the amber bone SS model is the basic one that is offered every year.

They have not offered it in CV since 1990.

neeman: The 47 is 1/4" longer than the 18.

knifeaholic: sheperd hills lists five different one (not counting a peanut and a whittler why there in there I dont know.) all have stainless blades except the one with barn board handles and it has 154 cm

What got me started in this is I have an old case xx 1973 63047 and both of bone handles broke off years ago. If they still make that pattern case might put handles on it for me.

Well, even if they won't repair your knife, I'm sure that someone around here could do it for you. There are several craftsmen who do that sort of thing who hang around here.

Case will rehandle any Case knife, for a fee. It is way cheaper than custom handles, but maybe not as pretty. They will only use original-like material. No customs. A 63047 can only have bone or delrin. They will use current bone, if they don't have period correct stuff.

Please include your name, address, phone number and specific repair instructions. Be sure to let us know if the knife has sentimental or collectible value in case your knife cannot be repaired and needs to be replaced, in which case you would not get your old knife back. All replacements are currently manufactured knives that most closely match the one you sent in for repair. All repairs are made with 2008 parts. We recommend that you insure your package during shipment. Please allow 4-6 weeks for service.

If you have multiple problems with your knife and only some of them are covered by warranty, you will be contacted with the non-warranty charges. Bone covers are $5.00 for each side plus $15.00 labor and $7.50 return S&H. There would be no charge for the Case emblem.

All our knives are made in the USA . Thank you from Case Cutlery and our American workers. If you have any additional questions, please call our repair center at

800-523-6350.

Sincerely,

Case Repair Center

Basicly it would cost 32.50 plus shipping it to them to get new bone handles and a new sheild. The knife isnt worth much like it is. I doubt anybody else would do it cheaper.
