Fleamarket knife seller had this on her table for 3 bucks. I'm strictly not a traditional guy but it seemed worth it. Any info would be great!

Looks like a Case Peanut, you could look up the year it was manufactured on the Case website, but I think its 2002. For $3 its a steal!

petah, I'm definitely not knowledgeable about market values, but if I got that knife for $3, I could die a happy man!!:D
If it's structurally sound, I'd probably not bat an eye over paying ten times that amount (and if you look on eBay, folks are asking 20 or 30 or 40 times what you paid for vintage models; I don't know how old yours is). A Case medium jack with such gorgeous stag is a very nice knife IMHO. Congrats on a fabulous score!!:cool:

I hope you get some informative responses from folks who know way more than I do!

Thanks for the kind word GT.

It works perfectly, no rust. I gave it a good cleaning with my dental picks/scratch brushes, Lightly oiled the handle (medical grade Minerial oil I use on my Nihonto) and then took it too a clay 6k grit stone to polish the edge. Should make a nice gift to someone who likes traditionals. Very pleased.

That is the Case Medium Jack pattern as denoted by the "087" part of the blade stamp. The "5" part of the blade stamp denotes Stag, while the "2" part denotes the number of blades.

Great deal on a nice knife, the medium jack is my favorite pattern.

That's one of the nicest Case knives I've seen, and its bigger-than-a-Peanut size is a real boon.

Great find!

Folks, please focus on the ID and what a nice knife it is, rather than on the precise value.

That is much nicer stag than you normally find on a modern Case - more in line with the grade you see on a GEC - you gotta nice knife Pal, and at a steal uva deal! OH

Yes, most CASE Stag is not nearly as good-looking as that. It's often more like bloated bone:eek: if you see my meaning..:D

For 3 Dollar she might have just as well given it away :foot: An excellent find and if you give it (GAW here??? :D) to somebody who likes a decent Traditional, then they'll be really pleased and grateful.
