Does anyone have an idea of the value of a Case XX 53047, it is in very good shape, light colored bone handle.

If the first number is a "5", then it's not light colored bone, it's real stag. Which makes it more valuable. Canyou tell us what it says on the tang? Right near the end of the main blade, it should say "Case" and other "dots" or "x"???

A picture would REALLY help.

Yes, please give us a pic if you can, or else do your best to describe what's stamped on the tang (the flat part of the blade nearest to the pivot).

Welcome!

That tangstamp should date it from 1964-1969, so without seeing it, C. Houston Price's Fourteenth Edition "Price Giude to Collector's Knives" shoots a ballpark figure of $200-$225 for a mint one, so depending on how nice it is, downwards of that depending on how much it was used, resharpened....Etc.

Here is a realy good website for info' on Case knives.
