Case 623-6 Skinning Knife

I need some information about the value of a Case 523-6 stag handled skinning knife and sheath, both in what I would call good to very good used condition. The knife is engraved (after market) on both sides of the blade. My question is, does the engraving destroy or diminish any collector's value?

I've seen them sell for $200 - $225, in minty-fresh condition. Dunno about the engraving on yours, though.

I believe it usually detracts, though it depends on how well it was done and upon whether you find a buyer who likes the chosen motif.

Usually, the closer to mib, the higher the price it fetches.
