Case 6254 ss steel

I would like to know what the blade steel is on a Case Trapper 6254ss with clover sawcut cow bone scales? Item# 29460. Thanks

Case uses their own brand of stainless they call Tru-Sharp, which is actually Latrobe 420HC stainless steel. It is similar to the stainless steel used in modern Victorinox knives.

I'd recommend getting a trapper in CV instead of Tru-Sharp, unless corrosion resistance is very important to you. Edge holding is much better (even if the blades are a tad on the soft side).

Thaka for the info, its my buddies that he got as a present and wanted info on what it was all about. Hes not a knife guy, i was more interested in it. I'm a Buck guy, so came to people in the know. Appreciate it.
