Will it work? Can I install blades from this 1974 knife into a 1965-69 frame?

Measuring with calipers, I've found some differences, but, whether or not it will work remains to be seen. Anybody have any first hand experience to share? Otherwise, I guess I'll just start cutting hinge pins and see what I get. T-A

Given the tight tolerances required to make a slipjoint fit together and function correctly, I would very much expect your plan to not work. If you're finding differences with calipers, there's your answer.

Might probably would be easier and faster to recover the '74 since you have to take it apart anyway?

Buffalo Horn, an exotic wood or a burl wood with lots of "monsters" hiding innit would look good, and be a one-of-a-kind.

I've not disassemled that pattern or years of thereof, but I'd guess swapping blades would work if you also swap springs.

If you're only swapping the blades, I think you'll find that the blade to tang relationship will be different...meaning, the blades may not sit correctly opened or closed, because the original blades were hafted with the original springs. The action and fit is based on that pairing. It probably won't be off that much, but probably enough to make a difference.
