I recently inherited a case 6347 SS brown smooth bone knife. It has a stockman clip, sheepfoot and spec blade. However, it has XX on the handle instead of a case logo. I looked on the internet sites but could not find a CASE knife with XX instead of a case logo. Any help identifying this knife would be greatly appreciated

What stamps are on the main blade itself? ...and what info are you looking for, aside from what you've already told us? It's a Case stockman, stainless blades...

It is a stockman knife- stainless steel Stockman Clip, Sheepfoot and Spey Blades 3-7/8. The xx on the handle is inside an elongated circle. There are not dots or XXs on the blade tang. I am a small time knife collector and i would like to know what Case series and date/ year it was manufactured. Again any words of advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hm... No dots or X's.... Normally, the blade tang is where the date code info is located. Is there anything at all stamped there?
You might try posting this over in the Traditional Forum, where you may have better luck.

a picture is worth a thousand words, it might be easier if we can see what you see

I don't think it sounds like a true Case knife if it doesn't have the typical stamping on the blade tang.
But I'm no expert.

It is probably from the "xx select" series of knives, if so, a very nice knife

Yup, sounds like it's from the Select line - these are produced in smaller quantities and finished to a little higher standard than their regular line and available only from "Select Dealers".

Here's an example (not my pic):
