Case 6380 Whittler

My son found this knife in an old tool box.
Markings on the main blade - Case xx USA / 6380
One side the scale is red, the other side is black?
Well used and blades heavily sharpened over the years.
Does it make sense to have it restored or leave it as is, character marks and all?

Hard to say without seeing it, or some clear pictures of it. I use mine, character marks and all, so I'd say sharpen it up and whittle something with it.

Photos are dark and low resolution so detail isn't shown but I suspect it has already been scrubbed a little. I wouldn't resurface the blades with abrasives. As you said, the blades are down quite a bit. They were sharpened very crudely. I'd wipe it down with an oil damp soft rag and put a better edge on the blades.

I would clean her up, oil, sharpen and use.
