I won one of these at an estate auction. As you can see the blade has additional notches in it. Th
ey look factory the blade does not look altered in any way. I can not find another like it. Also it comes with the sheath. No other ones have a sheath. I was told that it may be a real issue and not a collector knife. The serial is 1041. The estate in Colorado belonged to a retired Air Force Colonel. He had many WWII, WWI, Korea, and Vietnam items, weapons, knifes, and swords, most are very rare and had documents and to the historical significance or battle they were from. I say this because this was not a flea market find this person made a life of collecting only the rarest and best items. Please if you have any info on this knife I would love to hear it. I can not figure out how to add pictures.

Given his time in service, it's possible he had access to prototype or pre-production models, with differing features that were subsequently streamlined. I'd guess it's probably worth considerably more than you paid for it....

LOL, its the JoeX model, complete with broken blade.....The astronauts must have been batoning it with a moon rock.....The sheath was made in some ones basement, not at Case ....
You already got your answers elsewhere BTW.....
