Do the Case Barlow knives come with the metal bolster only on one side. Specifically pattern number 62009 1/2? If so is this historically accurate in regard to Barlow knives in general, or just Case manufactured knives?

Thanks for any feedback.

Took me a bit to figure out what you meant by "metal bolster only on one side" - but, yes, Case barlows only have bolsters on one end -- this is how true barlows have been constructed ever since the beginning.

Or you could say the metal bolsters are on both sides at the end the blade pivots

And that's all Barlows not just Case.

Case make a nice Barlow too, I've a couple of them.

Thanks very much for the responses.

And the above is what I was confused about. For some reason, I read the description as being a half bolster on one end. That didn't make sense to me, so I posted the question. The above statement makes very clear what I should have understood to begin with...one complete bolster on the blade end (not side:o).

Thanks again,
Doug
