Father-In-Law dropped off his knife to be sharpened. It is a Case Barlow with blue jigged bone. I'd forgotten I'd given him this one. Nice Case Select with a Bowie main & pen secondary. Use to be some engraving on the blade, but it is faint from use. Said his hands shake a bit too much anymore to sharpen it well.

Anyway, did Case ever make their Barlow with CV steel?

Handling his reminds me how much I liked it.

Do a web search for "A62009 1/2 Barlow". I'm seeing references to a 1980 Appaloosa Bone barlow in carbon steel. These weren't specifically marked as 'CV' at the time, but I'm relatively sure it was the same steel.

Edit:
I'm also seeing '62009 1/2' Barlow, 1970 vintage, in carbon steel.

I believe Case has made a lot of Barlows with carbon steel over time. I have a vintage Case Barlow that has carbon steel blades.

I had a delrin barlow with CV/carbon. Gave it to a friend, and actually just the other day it passed through my hands again for a sharpening.

Boker is making some nice carbon steel Barlows in Germany these days.
