Just home from the black powder elk hunt. No luck on taking an elk this year. It was my son's first year and we kicked up a beauty 5 point bull. Unfortunately, we were in a spike only area.

I took along my Case Bartender knife.

Nice looking knife, I see it came in handy. Beautiful picture. I don't own a Bartender Knife. The wine I buy has a lid on it.:D

Thats to bad about your Elk season.. I archery hunt and this was the best year we've had bein in Elk. I needed about another 15 yards to take a shot at a BIG 6X6, the rut started early where we hunt, he was just destroying a tree :D

Sorry I drifted off the knife topic, that happens to me when someone starts talkin about Elk huntin. Hope you and your son have better luck next year.

Looks like ya had good reason to take your bartender with ya...

I thought wine came in plastic bags in a box with a nozzle on them

It's funny that you post this, I was putting together my Christmas list and this is on it. I was commenting to my wife of how much I really like the design for an array of different uses. I'm huge fan of the hawkbill (not sure if that's what it's called by Case) for utility in the garden harvesting what I need for the evenings meal.

Better luck next time with the Elk and thanks for sharing the pic. I'm going to have to put an extra asteric next to this one on the list :)

Thanks.

Nice knife there, is that yellow handle?

I'm not a hunter myself, but I do enjoy eating game and I believe it healthier than farmed meat.Excellent picture too:thumbup:Nothing like wine with a good meal on the table either! What you call elk in the US we mean moose in Europe,so is elk a kind of red deer or reindeer to you? While we're on it, nobody seems to use moose(elk!)antler on knife scales elk(deer!)yes but why is this? Is moose antler too soft? There's a lot of it:D

Too much of that wine and you might forget all about that Forum Knife:D:eek:

Ed,

Sounds like you and your son still had a blast and made some fine memories in the process even though you couldn't take the 5'er.. Kids never forget there hunting and fishing trips with they're Dads!.

Love the knife and the photograph is stunning.

Anthony

I have had my eye on a Case Bartender.
But for the price, I am using my SAK of 35 years...

What is "A spike only area."

Thanks for the comments, guys.

lol, that is what my dad thinks.

It is the natural bone handle.
Here is a big bull pic, borrowed from wikipedia:

You are only allowed to take bulls with a single tine on at least one side. Like this guy:

Great photos ED T. I like the bartender's and champagne patterns... anything with a corkscrew for that matter. I don't have a Case yet though. What is the handle material on yours? Thanks.

That is how it was produced. It is a 64130. I looked again and can not find one at Shepard Hills. That is where I had purchased it.

Maybe there were fewer than I thought.

It is a 2003, I think
