I recently won an amber bone Case Bird Hunter. As an avid hunter I'm hoping it will get plenty of use. Of course, I won't get to see it until I get home next.:(
Does anyone else have one(or more)? Have you found any interesting uses for the hook other than it's intended use?
As always, pics are encouraged.

I'm shocked. Shocked I say!
Nobody has one of these? Are they that useless a design?:o

Protourist....I too am an avid birdhunter....i have a no-name knife with (hook?)....i personally dont use them for cleaning birds, but theyre damn handy for taking the billy off the fire!!!......FES

That's a great idea. Thanks!

I own an Amber bone one also, I turkey hunt but have never used it on a bird. Mine takes a wicked edge and holds it quite respectfully. It does see alot of time in my pocket.

Buck (Camillus contract) carried one from 79 - 91. The 'hook' has a long history and was a European invention. I assume there are special techniques in using one. I have read of folks using it on grouse and especially woodcock. Prehaps it would work well on quail but the changing environment has left me quail-less for the last twenty years. Anything bigger than the small birds seems likr it would just be a waste of effort. I grew up using fingers and they just seem more natural than a hook.

I do have one with the hook and its spring removed and it makes for a really thin single blade.
