I don't know for sure. It has no patinization, but there appears to be some peppering on the secondary blade. The tang marks are:

BULLDOG BRAND
HAMMER FORGED
SOLINGEN GERMANY
on one side and bulldog heads above "HAND MADE" on the other.

Thank you. PM sent w/payment info. All the whittlers have split backsprings. The backsprings on the Henckels and the Kissing Cranes are also tapered.

OOPS, my bad. I decided to research to see if my understanding of "split spring" was correct. Ends up it wasn't. They all have two separate springs with no liner. Sorry. If you've already sent paypal for both I'll refund the portion for the Henckels unless you tell me otherwise.
