Well, I'm guessing SHOT show is coming up, and Case will announce the pattern they will make in collaboration with Tony Bose for 2016. Clean 154CM blades with a variety of handle choices that give me whiplash! I am addicted. Luckily I was able to trade into the 2015 cattleman from a local dealer (two hours away is local in MD ;)), earlier this month. The blade placement made me scratch my head at first, but I see the ingenuity of the knife. The main blade was razor sharp, stropping the other two blades on my jeans brought the edge up fast. I love this knife, I got one in antique bone. I need to host the images.

So, I have two questions for you fellas and gals:

What pattern will Case use for the annual collaboration?

and, What pattern would you like to see used?

To answer the first question, I think that Case will use another jack pattern. Over the past ten years, they've had several trapper patterns (LC, WT), whittlers (Norfolk and wharncliff), a couple jacks (Zulu and coffin). The most recent patterns have been quite expensive too. I really wanted to like the recent whittler, but the main blade was too thick at the base for me. I'm thinking they'll go with another jack, whether single or double blade. Maybe a gunstock jack? The eureka jack Tony offered up for a charity at Blade a few years past, was absolutely beautiful. Maybe a fixed blade version of the Zulu?

To answer the second question, I'd like to see a gunstock jack. I believe that's one of Tony's patterns. As a Zulu/Tribal Spear fan, I'd like to see a lockback Zulu.

Asking for the world I guess...

I'm not sure what I would like to see really. Whatever it is I'm sure it will be an attractive pattern.

I have a 2015 Cattle Knife and a 2009 Norfolk and while I can't imagine anything topping those I know that if anybody can do it it's Tony Bose.

I probably won't spring for a 2016 Case/Bose (yeah right) because I'm very happy with the two collabs I already own and I really don't need any new knives. But if anything can tempt me it's a Tony Bose design.

I'm looking forward to the unveiling of 2016 collab whether I get one or not. Should be interesting.

A Texas Jack would not be a bad idea,

I'd love a small serpentine jack with a clip/pen. that Texas jack certainly fits the bill.

I have heard through the grapevine that Tony Bose made a peanut for a collector, and he said never again. I think it would be great to see a peanut, or similar, in the annual line.

I'd like a Barehead Swell End or Teardrop knife, about 3.75" Rat-Tail with a nice Sheepfoot single. Peach Seed jigging in a lightish toffee colour. Some DECENT grade Stag from GEC...Old School Red CASE Bone, Zebrawood.:D

Well, we can all dream:D

I share your dream with swedged blade :)

I'm not certain why anyone would want the lug nuts from the left wheel on your car, but I'm quite certain that is what you meant to say. (Anything else would not be considered "family friendly".)

That Texas Jack is pretty sweet.

I wonder why? Even so, it might be a great way to get some TB peanuts made without him having to make them! I would have to get one.

I could be mistaken, but I think part of the original ethos around the Collab knives was to re-introduce older patterns that may have become rare, notably CASE ones.

So a Eureka would be more appropriate than a Texas Jack which is a very common CASE Jack knife/Stockman. Nice Medium sized Senator? Loom Fixer, how about a Tadpole?:D:D

You're right on that one.

I'll 3rd Will's opinion, bring back a classic pattern. I am all in for a nice penknife. Or an Eureka pattern. Those aside, that Texas Jack would make an excellent consolation prize.

Thanks Jamie. But don't get me wrong anyone, I'm not knocking the TJ got a CASE cv and stainless example and the GEC equivalent the 76 Jack, very nice knives indeed.

Still reckon they should opt for a single-blade, or another single-spring type.
