Well, I'm guessing SHOT show is coming up, and Case will announce the pattern they will make in collaboration with Tony Bose for 2016. Clean 154CM blades with a variety of handle choices that give me whiplash! I am addicted. Luckily I was able to trade into the 2015 cattleman from a local dealer (two hours away is local in MD
), earlier this month. The blade placement made me scratch my head at first, but I see the ingenuity of the knife. The main blade was razor sharp, stropping the other two blades on my jeans brought the edge up fast. I love this knife, I got one in antique bone. I need to host the images.
So, I have two questions for you fellas and gals:
What pattern will Case use for the annual collaboration?
and, What pattern would you like to see used?
To answer the first question, I think that Case will use another jack pattern. Over the past ten years, they've had several trapper patterns (LC, WT), whittlers (Norfolk and wharncliff), a couple jacks (Zulu and coffin). The most recent patterns have been quite expensive too. I really wanted to like the recent whittler, but the main blade was too thick at the base for me. I'm thinking they'll go with another jack, whether single or double blade. Maybe a gunstock jack? The eureka jack Tony offered up for a charity at Blade a few years past, was absolutely beautiful. Maybe a fixed blade version of the Zulu?
To answer the second question, I'd like to see a gunstock jack. I believe that's one of Tony's patterns. As a Zulu/Tribal Spear fan, I'd like to see a lockback Zulu.
Asking for the world I guess...
