Case/Bose collaborations.

I just picked up a Case/Bose dogleg jack. I held off a long time getting one of these because I generally lean toward carbon steel knives. This knife is definitely well worth the price that I paid. The blades were of adequate sharpness out of the box, it took me about ten minuets on my sharpmaker to get them to shave hair. The blades have good snap and no side play. If I wasn't such a carbon steel snob ;) I would have bought this knife when it first came out in 2003 and maybe one or two more :). Any idea what the 2009 collaboration will be?

I'd say you made a great choice in that one. The one I have, which I was lucky enough to get from my buddy Vince, is one of my favorites. Here's a shot of it relaxing :):

Here's a shot of another Case/Bose collaboration which I had and sold to a really nice fella named Holger.

I've already got a pre-order in on this one! No way I want to miss getting my paws on one. :D

Thanks for directing me to the thread and posting the pic. Looks like a great knife, definitely one I want to pick up.

I finally picked one of these guys up and can't think of a reason for waiting so long to do so.

Nice image, Greg. That one is one of, if not my favorite of the few I own.

Thanks to a certain member here who shall remain nameless, I got my hands on a Case/Bose Arkansas Hunter. Big honkin thang.:D

I found the knife less than perfect, as there was no lock, nor any pocket clip. Not only that, but the blade has no serrations. Why, how can I cut anything with a blade like that?

Of course, I am lying like a politician the week before the elections. Only someone accustomed to handling true customs could find this knife less than perfect. Quality like this in a production knife is wonderful, and I am really happy with it.

By the way, I really don't have anything against knives with serrations, clips, and locks. I own more of them than I will ever be able to carry, and they certainly have their place. However, these folksy knives just warm my heart and brighten my day. Not quite as much a a real gen-you-wine custom Bose, but next best.

The knife is great like all the collabs. As far as my image goes, sometimes the magic works and sometimes it don't. Glad you guys enjoy it.
Greg
