This is not a whine about Case not offering CV on all of it's Bose collaborations, just a question as to what's available out there.
I have several annual collaborations, with the Lannys Clip on the way (my wallet just said
). I also have quite a few of the regular collaborations.
5 blade sowbelly with watermelon bone scales;
regular 3 blade sowbelly with harvest orange bone scales;
Backpocket with ebony scales;
Backpocket skinner with goldenrod scales;
saddlehorn with antique bone scales;
swayback gent with ebony scales.
All are SS. I have one swayback jack with chestnust bone scales, and CV blades. The SS works just fine, and I have carried all of them at some time, except the 5 blade sowbelly. For years I have dreaded a patina forming on my knives. Unless it was an old beater, an old kitchen knife, or my Gossman PSK, I hated a patina. Now, after using bushcraft knives and slipjoints with tool steel and carbon steel blades, it is actually kind of, fun isn't the word, I'll go with interesting to see what type of natural patina occurs. I would like to do this with my Bose collaborations.
I know that Case has made a few Bose 3 blade sowbellys with CV blades. Does anyone know if any of the above are available with CV blades? How hard are they to come by? I'm guessing only knife nuts will be going for the Bose patterns, and only knife nuts would be bent on picking up models with CV blades. Unfortunately, I am not interested in yellow scales, I like the older Case yellow scales, but the new ones just don't do it for me. Maybe they will have some available with amber scales or chestnut bone scales.
I am also interested in new Bose offerings, like the forthcoming single blade sowbelly and Panama Trapper. Any regular Bose line patterns, discontinued or in regular production, that I should check out?
