Case/Bose Lanny's Clip Collaboration Question

I just ordered one of these knives (in chestnut bone) and this will be my first Case (own many GEC's and Northwoods) and the first time I have spent $300 on a traditional knife. I am very excited to get it and as soon as I saw one for sale I jumped on it. Now the hard part is to wait until the package arrives next week. Since I jumped on it so quickly I didn't really get a chance to check it out. So for anyone that has one, is this knife worth the asking price? How is the fit and finish? (I hope it is above Case's regular production fit and finish at this price point) And if you have any pictures I would love to see them! (Especially any shots in hand!) I will post pictures of mine plus a first impression (and a year later review - if I decide to keep it) as soon as I get it. Edit: this will not be a safe queen but a user. Thanks for your help! I love this subforum!

I think the fit and finsh are very high on this collaboration. They are cut on an EDM, hence the price. I would say that they are worth the price, it will make a great user. Now to a few pics..

Kris, I really like my chestnut bone LC, but that stag takes the cake.

I think that the LC is worth the price. The steel involved and the handle materials are high grade on these, but the fit and finish is phenomenal. Saving all year for the annual Bose collaboration, while trying not to buy anything else, is really worth it, to me anyway. You could have saved a couple bucks on a used one, but then you have to take into account if and when it will show up next, buying from an individual rather than a store etc.

Kris thanks for this! Love that sheath! Did you make it?

It seems like the common theme on these, is that they are close to custom fit and finish, without taking the leap in price.

Something to consider, though, is that you can regularly pick up custom slip jpints from some newer, or more or Budget Priced makers right in that range, and even cheaper sometimes.

I believe that for price, and construction and materials, they are priced fine. They look fantastic, and make great users or collector pieces. Dandy steels.

The part about fit and finish may be true, but Vance's pic shows that as nice as these Case/Bose collaborations are they don't quite compare to customs. The covers and bolsters remain quite boxy whereas knives from the Boses, Enrique, Jared, or Kerry are well radiused.

I am in the minority.

To me the materials do not justify the price increase. I owned two of the collabs of years past. I have to admit, I wasn't all that impressed for the price. Had they been a $175 - $200 folder, perhaps , but not at $300.

I am way more impressed in my John Lloyd folder, which cost me less than the Case.

I just don't feel the Case Collab is worth $220 more than say a Case Backpocket.

Of course this is just my personal opinion.
