Since my Case/Bose Tribal Spear is one of the best traditionals I own I decided to hunt down a Muskrat. Well it finally arrived today and I'm very impressed! It's going right in my pocket to see how it works as an EDC knife. The construction looks to be at custom levels with amazing F&F.

Got mine a few days ago too. Ever since I first laid eyes on this knife, it's been my grail knife, not really unobtainable, just out of practical reach because of the cost. Well, the eBay gods smiled upon me, and I was able to get one for an extremely reasonable price. In fact, it fits my original "ideal" knife (#2) perfectly, which I was hoping to find even before I knew such a knife existed.

The Case/Bose muskrat doesn't just fit my requirements, it exceeds them. I've found that I prefer having half-stops on my slipjoints, and although muskrats typically don't have them, the Case/Bose does (and the spring sits flush at the half point). Pull/snap is exactly where I want it: it feels a bit stiff, but that's because of the half-stops, and the snap in to every position is very positive.

Unlike most production slipjoints, all the hardware is stainless steel. No nickel-silver on this knife. SS bolsters, catch bits, liners, and shield (pinned to the liner). And of course, you won't ever find me complaining about ATS-34 steel. Now I just need to find a back-up one in bone, and a pair in stag.:D

Here's a picture of my Case/Bose with my Canal Street in caramel.

Beautiful! The collaboration muskrat is high on my list of gotta-haves!

I used to have one and imho it was just about the best of the collaboration knives in terms of overall fit and finish.

A muskrat with the clip and wharncliffe blade configuration (Hawbaker) covers a lot of bases. Ideal EDC knife! The bone on this one is excellent! Congrats!

Thanks everyone. I'm finding this to be a very useful knife with the two blade configurations. I have a Schrade OT Improved Muskrat that I carred for a short time and found that having two identical blades was not overly useful. This Case/Bose version is perfect in terms of covering pretty much any cutting need.

I have one of these and I love it. I think the bone models actually look nicer than the stag versions but I'd be very happy to own either. It's a very usable length and a very practical design!
