Hi all. Anyone send in a Case Bose collab for warranty work lately (during the pandemic)? Just mailed off a wharncliff trapper that had a wharncliff blade rubbing the liner. Wonder is they will bend it or take it apart....worried they might change the covers. I went through a few knives to find this one with wonderful matched scales and it’s super tight with a hefty snap I don’t wanna lose. Anyhow now I am sounding like a worried child.
How long did it take? I hear (from reading old posts) that the Bose collabs get pushed to the front of the line?
Thanks for any info. 368BC2CC-233B-4686-BEEC-ABA1A1978A8F.jpeg0BEF3B8C-FC1D-4110-9938-3CBC0D1378A4.jpeg

That one sure is a sweetie, Pat. No personal experience, but all the reviews I've read/watched on YouTube of guys with fit and finish issues on the Bose collabs have had outstanding results and service with Case's warranty repair. You certainly wont loose the covers unless they damage them during the repair and need to do replacement, which they won't. I've had GEC straighten a blade and I've had Case replace a mangled secondary blade on a standard run knife, and I think I had it back in less than three weeks, about half the time it took GEC.

Thanks man. Sometimes I just need some reassurance! I love that little trapper and it’s kinda sentimental because my mother gifted it to me for my 50th...

I was going to send my cattle knife in, but then I didn’t get a response from Case for almost a month, so into the pocket it went and became a user. Not sure if I’ll send it in now.

I've used it twice on a collaboration, but awhile ago. Took about 2-3 weeks at that time collaboration repairs were expedited. I was satisfied, especially since the damage was my fault and they fixed it for free.

Case emails a form for you to fill out as part of the warranty/ repair process..... There are places that you can comment on handles, scales and the like........
I requested a warranty repair on a new knife for the blade rubbing the liner..... The next day Case emailed the form.... The following day I shipped the knife back to them.... That was a week ago....... I'd think I'll have the knife back in a week, or two....

I have one I need to send in.. again.. my LBW that was sent back from service with the pivot pin extremely proud.

"I can peen the pin and then sand flush no big deal" I thought to myself... Now the pin sits below the bolster... Which is dimpled from the amateur attempt at peening. Sending it back now is saturated with guilt since the current condition is my fault haha

Goooood times. I've learned that it's really not worth trying to "fix" things the hard way.

Just be very specific that you do not want the scales changed. They maybe can align that without even taking it apart.

I have used the service on collabs and was happy both times.

that is a beautiful example. I would LOVE to find that exact knife. Color is great.

That’s what I wrote on the form. I love the covers too! Thanks!

Hey all. Just wanted to give a quick update. My knife showed up the mail today...and the work was PERFECT! I don’t know how they did it but both blades still have perfect snap and no wobble and now are perfectly centered! Anyhow if your on the fence with sending something in for their warranty service I was impressed.
Yeah I know this post is worthless without a pic...A14D982F-E371-4197-8B58-DE0805A80C65.jpeg

Nice to hear a good review.:thumbsup:
I'm glad they got it all fixed up for you.:thumbsup:

Just for us that are wondering… What was the total turnaround time?

Including the postage time like 18 days. I called them to confirm they had it and the nice lady said it was done and I think they had it like three or four days - definitely less than a week. Really fast.

Just to add to this I was really on the fence with sending it in. I send a horn 33 with some wobble in the main blade to be tightened at gec a few years ago (like five) and it came back hard to open and close...I am not trying to throw them ‘under the bus’ as I think they make a nice knife but that knife was ruined. I was warranty shy after that. People kept saying case had great warranty service especially for the collabs and wow I am a changed man.

For the price those Bose collabs cost, case should very much care about how quick they complete it and the quality of the work. Im glad to hear this went well. I have three Bose collabs
