Please explain Case/Bose collaborations. I'm seeing Case/Bose knives priced all over the place. Some of the Case/Bose knives have the Case emblem, these are usually the lower priced ones, other Case/Bose knives have a different emblem (dogbone?) and they are usually higher. Am I seeing things? Is a Case/Bose always a Case/Bose and the price differences are because of steel or something else? Thanks.

Tony has collaborated with Case on several regular production knives, such as the Swayback Jack and a Sowbelly, etc., but the annual Case/Bose collaboration knives are special limited Bose-designed runs that equal many mid-level customs in terms of materials, fit and finish. The latter usually start at around $300+/- and go up from there depending on the handle material and design complexity. See the link for a list of the annual collaborations.

OK thanks Rick. So, can you say that the annual collaboration knives have the shield or dogbone emblem and the "regular" production Bose design Case knives have the Case emblem?

Here is a pic of several of the Annual collaborations and shields. The shields vary, but non have the regular oval shield of regular case production knives.

That link of John's pictures is great and worthwhile.

My picture is missing the cotton sampler, Yukon and muskrat.
(As well as the Tribal Spear from this year.)

Those are the three that drew my eyes.
That pruner is unreal though.

You probably can't go wrong with any of the Case/Bose collaborations. Even the cheaper ones, blow away regular Case knives in my limited experience.

Wow! Those are some great looking knives Gus!

For the OP, I had a Chestnut bone swayback jack/gent in cv blade steel that was a collaboration Case Bose, for around $50.00 It definitely had a better fit and finish than any other Case pattern sans the collaboration at that price level. IMO, it is the best bang for your buck around $50 (not sure about the availability right now). I gifted it to a man who did me a favor, and I have not replaced it yet. I just love that pattern.

Now, I got that pruner stuck in my head from Gus's pics.

Well, seeing how the norfolk is the only one of those three that I can find online anywhere I think Ill be getting that one first. Which one do you like better in hand, the ebony or the antique bone? Some shops still have some of each, and I am leaning towards ebony but cant hold one in hand before I buy. Not like Id be unhappy with either...
