Case Brothers?

I'm thinking about buying a Case Brothers doctor's knife in ATS-34, which i've found somewhere. (It's one of those with a spatula.) And now i just wanted to ask the kind folks here, what their impression of this type of knife is? I'll probably get it anyway, but i thought i could ask about some information about Case Brothers, when it might've been made, if anyone have detailed pictures of one, and all that. I'm guessing that a knife with the Case Bros tang stamp is just a limited edition from Case?

Any information is appreciated, and clear pictures doubly so.

I don't have one, but I'm seeing one web reference to the Doctor's Knife w/green bone & ATS-34 (pattern #6285SPATS-34, item number 5264) on the web. It specifies the knife was part of a set released in 2003, limited to 250 sets.

The 'Case Brothers' line are somewhat upscale limited edition knives, sometimes with upgraded steels & other embellishments (like grooved/fluted bolsters, special shields, unique tang stamps, etc.). Should be quite nice. I'd doubt you'd be disappointed with it. ATS-34 is a great steel for pocketknives, takes a fantastic edge.

Thanks David, i think i'll enjoy it.

I'm kinda surprised noone has any pictures of it, or more information on this or other Case Brothers knives.
Let's widen the spectrum of this thread, and ask what people have done with their doctor's knives, or any general history on them.
I've read most of jackknife's stories, and there's atleast one that details its use. Still not much information on why and how the pattern came to be though.
