I've gotten quite picky in my knife collecting. I still like to hunt for old knives that need a little TLC. But I haven't really been intrigued by any of Case's offerings lately, save for the Bose collaborations.

I swear by Carhartt. I work in an office, but I like to get out and play around in the woods on the weekends. I'm a big guy, and Carhartt seems to offer the cheapest durable clothes out there of most major brands. The stereotypical Carhartt coat, they've served me well over the years. If it says Carhartt on it, I've probably got it. It helps that there aren't many fat farmers, as I get most of my Carhartt stuff from the feed store when they go on sale

So when I saw that Case was making these last year, I talked to a certain national feed/farming store about picking up these knives. Mainly just so I could see some in hand. The manager said that decision was up to the buyer for that region, and that they would kick it up the ladder. Who knows if they did or not, the manager said most people there were buying Chinese made Schrades or Chinese made Winchesters, the Case stuff was sitting.

Please share your Carhartt knives. Any pattern, any style, carbon, stainless. Whatever you have.

I have lots of Carhartt clothes but for me commercial branding is not something that I care about, especially on a knife. But the knives are good ol' Case knives. And I like the "as ground" blades that Case uses on some of the knives for Carhartt. I think the only sowbelly with "as ground" blades might be the ones branded with the Carhartt logo.

Regarding Case's Carhartt knives, I have found they are usually the lower priced ones in each model. I don't think they have been a good seller for Case and that is why they are sale priced. I think they are as good as any Case knife and the branding is subtle except on the main blade.

I love Carhartt stuff, my winter snow gear is pretty much all Carhartt. That being said, I don't really go for the collaboration knives too much, but I do think the Case/Carhartt Sowbelly single clip is a heck-of-a deal right now. If I got it, I would probably get rid of the shield, trade it a plain silver oval maybe.

Here's a Carhartt Peanut. I think the cover is Dark Molasses Bone? Either way, it's a well made knife. The shield is the only thing that says Carhartt, and it's a nice brass oval, so I don't mind.

Silenthunter. I am the same way. My wardrobe is all Carhartt, and being a knife collector I was glad to see the collaboration.
I am only missing 8 knives out of the entire collection. I still need 4 of the Grapeleaf plastic handle ones. The second cut bone series and the autograghed one didn't interest me though. I have the two shadow box displays and made one of my own.

Unfortunately I am not set up post pictures on this site.

I wish they would have made a sodbuster in the brown g 10.

I think they're cheap now because Carhartt isn't collaborating anymore. Last time I looked for Case on the Carhartt site, the page was no more. I'd say if you've got the money, buy what's left. They're great knives.

They are in the clearance section of Carhartts website, but some of the models can be had cheaper elsewhere.

This is my as ground single blade mini trapper. It's my 7 days a week edc and let's just say I freaking love it!

I rotate it out every now and then but this one is going to be my go to edc for a long time.

I like old advertising knives but somehow paying for a big business logo on a new knife is not something I would do. To me it's a lot different than a hat or a tee shirt an I don't why. I just don't care for it.

I also have the single blade mini trapper. This knife has been in my pocket since I got it about 3 weeks ago. I really like the as ground blade and wish Case would produce more of them. I will pick up more of these Carhartt knives if my local store has them next time I go back. They were also half off which makes them even nicer.

(sorry for the size and orientation of the pic. Photobucket isn't cooperating this morning.)

That's awesome, I picked mine up not much before that. I wish it had a big brother, full size lockback. CSC makes the pinch but not with a wharnie blade. The wharnie blade makes for great utility when you need a regular knife just to cut regular things during the day!

I just picked up two last week, the green zytel Hobo, and a peanut in the dark molasses bone.

The Peanut, the main reason I got it is that I live in Alaska. Carhartt and Alaska are like America and apple pie. There is very little more Alaskan than Carhartt. And IMNSHO, very little more American in knives than Case.. So I just had to have at least one Case Carhartt knife. With the clearance prices on, I figured if I didn't get one now, I'd probably never be able to. Got the peanut because it is without a doubt my favorite pattern, and of all the choices, the one pattern I'd be garranteed to actually carry and use.

The Hobo because I have wanted a Case hobo for over a decade, but could never justify the cost.... those suckers are so bloody spendy normally, but with the clearance prices on the Carhartt lines right now, I got to get one at 1/4 what the usual bone and bolster models cost, 1/2 what the boy scout plastic handles cost... Couldn't pass it up!

Some of the Peanut review I posted on my site;
"" I had avoided this finish(as ground blades) on their more economy knives, since it always looked so rough in sales pics, but it really is pretty nice. Its as ground, but at a high grit, Almost a brushed/satin look. The sharper crisper corners since the blades aren't blended/tumbled is nice too. Looks “clean”.

Add in satin finish bolsters and its a very clean, honest, no nonsense, “I'm ready to work” look.
Knife is well built, no gaps, good bone fit, great walk and talk.

Carhartt on the left, WR Case on the right, note not only a finish difference, and the crisper lines, but the Carhartts' blade plunge line is a curved tapered drop. The WR Case, and my regular Case line Peanut too, have a straight plunge. So, its not just the same parts finished differently, the as ground blades are ground differently to begin with..

And the hobo for grins :) ;

I'd have gotten that single blade wharnie mini trapper too, especially at clearance prices, but even that couldn't make up for jigged delrin... Yuck! Really wish case had put that one in the dark molasses bone, or even in the Shephard Hills exclusive brown G10... Anything but jigged delrin!

I find this amusing ^ as I just picked up another jigged delrin Case Carhartt collab. This time a mini copperlock to go with my mini trapper! I love the no fussness of the delrin and the shape is right.

For my daily EDC's and not blades that could serve as an EDC but don't get carried, I'm less concerned with the looks as I plan to just use them.

Here's the new one that just came in. Picked it by accident as the seller labeled it a mini copperlock it ended up being a full size but I really like it!
