Case CO-OP knives

Case collection of CO-OP knives.
I have been looking at the Case Barlow Co-op 4-h/ FFA knives at Stockdales. I checked several of them and the clip point blade has side to side play.
I was really wanting one to collect and one to carry. But the blade play is a deal breaker.
Is this a trait of these knives or just a bad batch? Thanks in advance.

I've never had a Case knife that didn't have blade play. The only slipjoint knives I've had that had no play are my Swiss Army Knives.

I just checked three Case knives that I have and none of them exhibit significant blade play. Even when I push on the side of the blade, the movement is barely perceptible and within what I consider the necessary mechanical tolerances to allow the pivot to function.

I should say,

The few Case knives that had no blade play when new, developed it quickly, with normal use.

I just expect it from Case.
