I picked up a couple more Case this weekend. I'll post pics after the descriptions. First up is a 2 dot coke bottle. I've never seen the tang stamp "25 1/5" before. It should be 6225 1/2. Derlin handles..some patina and pepper spots but the blades are in fantastic shape. This one has as much or more snap than some of my brand new Case knives. It's a nail breaker in terms of opening. There is really nothing special about this knife but I liked it as soon as I picked it up.

I also picked a 1 dot damascus coke bottle with stag handles. The knife looks wet in the pics because it's covered in mineral oil. I forgot to take pictures before it went in for a soak. This one had some small rust spots and discoloration on the blade. I think some Metal Glo will take care of it. Aside from the small rust spots and blade discoloration, this one looks to be in great shape as well.

I doooo like that Damascus Stag :D

So do I.....and I won't feel guilty carrying it as it's certainly not mint. Did I tell you this knife was found in a coffee can with 6 or 7 cheapo slippies? It was rescued. It's happily soaking in a mineral oil bath.

I would have been jumpin up and down like a little kid if I found that in a coffee can with some cheapos...... It looks like it was smilin, it knew it found a good home.
A friend of mine has a friend that bought a big zip lock bag full of old watches at a Salvation Army, I guess there was like 30 of them in this bag.
When he got them home to sort through them to see what was salvageable, there was a Rolex and another high dollar watch in the bag. Nothing wrong with either one. He paid 30.00 for the bag and ended up selling the 2 high dollar watches for almost 2,000.00 ..
Well enjoy your new find after it gets out of the spa :D

I have seen it before, sometimes on smaller knives Case would shorten the pattern #.

I have the same Damacus Case the 512 layer damascus was made by/for Parker cutlery.

I use mine all the time, if ya need to etch the blade to make the pattern show, dip it in ketchup/catsup what ever and let it soak over night, rinnse dry and oil and you'll be good to go, oh yea this sucker takes and holds a wicked edge.

Enjoy your find,:thumbup::D

I guess that would make sense. I have many other small Case knives (peanuts, pen knives etc.) and this is the only one with the shortened pattern #. Thanks for the info. Somebody always knows the answer around here. ;)
