Just picked this up last week off a forumite. This one and the Camillus CQBII in 1095. Camillus missed the boat on that one. But this isn't about that knife it is about the copperhead. I haven't really carried a folder like this in years. I have had several of different varieties and have always given them away as gifts or just to be a nice guy. Ya right.

Anywho rec. this Case as stated and I have to say for being several yrs. old it was in excellant cond. with the box and wrapper. Every line and juction of where something meets on the knife is done dead nuts spot on. I am talking the liners, the jigged bone scales, the mid lock on the top of the knife, the ricasso where the blade meets the lock. All of them are dead nuts perfect as near as I can tell. The snap is excellant and the scales where they are fit to the bolsters for lack of a better term are seamless. The scales are also are very even with the bolsters as for height. In other words they don't sink below and they don't rise above them. When the blade is locked open the transition from the top of the back of the blade to the lock is also seamless. Same goes for the lock itself where it is fitted to the spacer. Once again you can't feel anything where they meet but just see a tiny black line.

The only thing the knife wasn't when I rec. was sharp. I mean dull, dull, dull. Remedied that over the course of watching an evening of TV last night. Now surgically sharp. Hair splitting to be exact. I don't know if all Case copperheads are like this or if I just got lucky. But looking at the recent article in I belive Blade mag. about what to look for in a folding knife well this little sucker fits the bill and in spades. Great fit and finish and now sharp as a razor. It will reside at the bottom of my right front pocket underneath my most current edc my Endura in VG10. Keep'em sharp.

Couple of days ago my wife gave me a CASE 3207 "small trapper". Same story , excellent fit and finish very well made pocket knife. The CV blades are holding a edge very well. The only difference in mine came sharp enough out of the box to nick my finger. I am so impressed that I ordered a Russlock with CV blades a few miniutes ago. May be it's time to start giving CASE a second look.

Case often has good to great fit and finish and the hardware store usually has enough of them that you can pick the best of the bunch. I often buy them as presents for non-knife people. They like the american made quality plus the shiney bolsters and good bone handles. For a knife person, but you're on a budget, try the case warncliffe copperlock in chrome vanadium, I bought one for a graduation gift and it was purty.

Case's quality has improved in recent years. I just wish they could get a better heat treat on their SS. I love my mini Copperlock. It's a really great design.

I got a mini-copperlock of ebay a few months back and have been using it lately also, it's a nice size gentleman's folder.

And the amber bone looks really slick!
