Case copperlock question

I just got a Case, amber bone copperlock for my EDC rotation. I really like it, but don't know much about it. I have been into tactical knives for a long time, and am used to frame locks and S30V blade steel. How is Case's steel? How about the lock strength? This is just to be carried for normal day to day cutting chores, and the occasional kitchen duty. Thanks for any info in advance.

I don't care much for their stainless steel but their CV is pretty good . My two cents .

I think I have to get a CV bladed case. Or a D2 bladed Queen. What do you all recommend? I like single bladed knives in the copperlock and the hunter pattern.

I really like my CASE trappers . I have one that is 4 1/4 and one that is 3 1/2 . Both have yellow handles and CV blades . I think that they are both avaliable in amber bone as well . I have zero experiance with Queen . Another CASE that I have worth mentioning is my Russlock , also with yellow scales and CV blade . Pretty cool little folder for light use .

So do all of the yellow handled Case's have CV? I think I have to go to Outdoor world to get one tomorrow if they do.

Not all of the Case Yellow handled knives are CV...

But a little while ago I did a review of those that are.
See my "Case for CV" page

Rod, your page is awesome! I was looking at it and thinking about which one to get tomorrow. LOL :D Outdoor World near my house has a case full of yellow and amber bone Case's. I am waking up early tomorrow.

I'm betting that you will go for the large Sodbuster or the big Stockman :)

Unless youy are much daintier than your avatar suggests ;)

Cheers

PS. remember to look for "CV" on the tang.

In regards to steels, I do know that stainless is different from carbon :D. That's about it, but I do know that one of the knife mistakes I've made was selling my first mini Copperlock. That was a good little knife, I only used it for when I got dressed up etc though. I just bought a replacement several months ago, and I'm looking forward to getting a full size Copperlock. I didn't hard use my new mini, but for everyday chores, it performed well.

I've got the D2 bladed Queen version of the Copperlock, which they call the Mini-hunter. It's a nice little knife IMO. The lockup is amazingly crisp and tight, but as a liner-lock it doesn't figure to be nearly as strong as a lockback, if that's important to you. That liner is only about 1/32" stock.

If I had the need for it, I'd jump on a Case Wharncliff Copperlock in CV. Great looking bigger blade from Case. Also..if you want something premium the new red bone Copperlock with ATS-34 is great looking. Cost you big dollars, but not as much as some of those tacticals you USED to carry. :D

I agree that the Warncliffe CV copperlock is sweet. I bought one as a present and it was perfect. Polish up the brass and it looks like gold :) all for less than $40.

I went this morning and took a look. I told the guy I was only interested in the knives in the white boxes. LOL They were out of the Sodbuster. I got a yellow handle trapper, and a Amber Bone Texas Jack. I LOVE THEM!!!! :D :D :D

I used my CASE 3254 trapper hard at work today . It still cuts paper nicely . Great knife , I may have to get one in amber bone .
