Case Copperlock Size?

I was wondering if anyone by chance had any pics, or could provide some perspective on what the differences are in size of the Case Copperlock compared to the Mini Copperlock... or even better, how these compare to the Buck 55 in terms of dimensions. I wasn't too keen on the 55 because of the orientation of the lock, and the Mini Copperlock looks like a winner to me, but I just can't really get an idea of how mini is mini.

I don't have a 55, but heres a mini copperlock next to my stockman and a can of skoal if that will help you size it up. Two words of advice though before you purchase:

1. Handle it before you buy it.

The biggest pet peeve I have with this knife is the little nub on the top of the handle. Gets in the way all the time. I've learned to handle it in certain ways to minimize its obstructiveness but it's really a bother. I love everything about this knife accept for that one fact.

2. Put a fairly obtuse micro bevel on it.

I used to hate Case SS accept for on a Sod Buster Jr. because it would never seem to stay sharp. I would toss it in the pocket able to whittle hair and two days later after have seen no use it would barely shave my arm. This is because the stainless steel burrs very easy and is very persistant, you'll have to raise the angle higher than you think would be necessary to really knock that sucker off. Once you do however its really not a bad steel at all.

Thank you, Javelin. The Skoal tin really helps for reference. And thank you, Ed. That orange one is a beauty. I don't usually care much for holiday themed knives, but I really love that Thanksgiving dinner scene. Really, that is very cool. Bone?

Yes, it is smooth chestnut bone. Laser etched. It's a very nice little knife. Of course the pearl next to it is as well, but I carry the Thanksgiving one and the pearl stays in the chest. Of the larger ones, I like the stag better, but all of them are nice.

That's the first I've heard anyone say they don't like the 55. Huh.

I like it fine. I bought one and ended up returning it. I will probably try another one in the near future. It's on my wishlist. I think at the time I bought it, I realized that it was one of those knives I could live without. The more I use and love my Spyderco Delica, the more I like the position of the lock at the middle of the handle. The Mini Copperlock seemed to be the best of both worlds. Size and lock. From what it looks like, the 55 is closer to the mini, am I right?

Javelin, what do you mean by this nub please? Is the spring raised on your Mini-Copperlock? Do you mean the lock depression then? I haven't any problems with mine, the backspring is smooth,no raised spring or anything.

One thing that might not be for all tastes is that this is quite a thin knife. Myself, I like that although I far prefer to Mini Copperlock to the full size one, that's too long for me.

Fes, the scales themselves are run thin, width of handle is OK. but for prolonged use, thicker scales suit me more. Good smaller lockback though for lighter tasks.
