I bought a Case Copperlock recently, and I like the knife. The looks, size and blade are all very nice. The knife opens nicely and locks solidly in place. In fact, it locks too solidly in place! Once opened, the lock is so stiff, it is almost impossible to apply enough pressure with a finger to unlock and close it. I find myself pressing the back of the handle against the edge of tables or other hard objects to get it closed sometimes.
I've owned plenty of lock-back knives before so I know how they usually work and IMO there is something wrong with this knife. I was hoping after some use it would losen up a bit, but apparently not. Is there any way to losen the lock up just a little, short of returning the knife to Case for service?
Thanks!
