Case Cross Shield

Seeing a lot of these Case Cross Shields on ebay. (some have a single cross, some have three crosses).

They say there are only 100 made and that each one is numbered etched in the blade.

Did Case only make 100 PERIOD? or did they make 100 of each color, each handle pattern, etc?

I don't know for sure but I would say that the bolded text is the most likely answer.
