It isn't so much a review as a praise. I just recieved a Case pen knife in CV from SMKW and I am extremely pleased with it. I have really found the quality and F+F to be much improved in the newer CV knives. I just bought an amber bone medium stockman in CV when I was up in TN and it also has excellant F+F, I got to look at some others in the case to choose the best one and they were all choice specimens.

I really liked the stockman and figured I would EDC that one for a few years, but I don't use the spey blade and I really wanted a pen knife so I bit the bullet and I am very pleased. It is a great time to be a Case fan especially a CV fan. They are alot tighter than my other cases from a few years back. The pen knife has NO noticeable blade play in either blade, the blades line up well, the edges are crisp, even, and pretty thin (thick edges are too common in slippies nowadays).

Just wanted to let everyone know that Case has made another happy customer even happier:D.

I hope to keep this one in my pocket for years to come and hopefully when I am gone, my chidren and grandchildren will know that it served me well. However strong my future plans for this knife are, I am just a knife nut and will probably buckle under the pressure of wanting a new knife shortly, maybe I will be loyal to it for as long as it is loyal to me, only time will tell.

Good deal! Which handle material did you get with your CV pen?

I agree with you about Case upping their game lately. I've noticed that their quality has improved in the last few years, especially with the smaller models. The nicest Case I've gotten recently was a small stockman in tangerine bone (SS)- it's as nice a small knife as I've ever seen- great jigging, good snap, just well done overall. Case is making some nice knives these days.

Was it a 63032? I have a new one of those in mind. My old one still has life but I like the amber bone. How can you beat 41 bucks.

I think the only handle material you can get the pen knife with CV is yellow composite, correct me if I am wrong. I have the serpentine stockman with the turkish clip blade and the round bolsters.

I've got the yellow handle pen-knife as well and as I've written before, a really undervalued knife.I'm very pleased with it,slim and useful.CASE certainly put out a good knife in my recent experience, nicely made and a decent snap too.

Another of their cv knives I'm continually impressed by is the Small Texas Jack in Amber Bone, an authentic worker and just nice to toy with as well.

As for yellow handle, it's utility but certainly not charmless, in fact it's attractive and old school in the right way, just like Camillus's Yello Jakets were!

I agree, I really like the yellow handles and actually prefer it to some of the faux stag that is offered somtimes. I would like to see Case use yellow smooth bone like Moore Maker though, that would be icing on the cake.

I really liked the Small Texas Jack as well, I wish I wouldn't have sold that one. I want to see a jack with rounded bolsters in CV like the old ones.

Amen, brother! I've gone from a skeptic to a Case convert over the past few years. The folks in Bradford do a great job.

It is a great knife.
Just the length I like and is so thin, it just disappears in to my front pocket.

I'm liking those yellow composite Case CV knives more and more.

My in-laws where in town visiting this weekend and as I was showing my father-in-law a vintage Case knife of mine before they drove all the way back to their home, he took out his Old Timer small stockman and he was telling me he was having problems sharpening the main blade. I was shocked! He has worn maybe 40% of the old carbon blade away so of course without a regrind, the edge was too thick to get a decent edge out of it. I gave him a spare Victorinox Alox Farmer I had in a downstairs cabinet but I have ordered him a Case CV peanut with the yellow composite handles that I think he will like much better. I'll get to see him next weekend so I can give him the CV peanut. Hope he likes it. I wish (and I suspect some of y'all do) that Case offered many more patterns and handle materials with CV blades.

If they did, they would certainly get more of my business because I would buy one of every pattern in CV;).

Looks like that pen blade has seen a little action!

63032 is one of my favorite patterns. I have two in CV and chestnut bone.

I couldn't agree more about the yellow handled CV knives from Case - well made and very comfortable users. I have a yellow CV medium stockman and the yellow CV Pen patterns. The stockman gets more pocket time right now but I think that may change. I am also loving my Bose/Case Swayback Jack right now. I selected the green bone because it was the only bare end model I could find, beautiful knife with excellent fit and finish.

I used to make these grippers out of tool steel windings and epoxy, and I used it to trim off the epoxy.Of coure the steel was hard coat chrome.I think I carried if for 10? YEARS.I thought about a reblade but I think I'll just get another. Too many memories.
