Here's the contest:
In addition to being a "knife nut," I'm a hardcore fisherman. I spend quite a lot of time on my boat every year. Too much according to my wife. I've had a 20' boat with a Honda 150 horsepower motor since November, 2004. I'm going to give this knife away to the person that guesses how many running hours I've put on the motor so far after four years of fishing trips. There are UNDER 1000 hours on the meter. The person that gets closest to the number on the hour meter without going over wins. The deadline for entry is Tuesday, December 23rd at 8:00 PM. The winner will be announced later that evening.
This knife started out as a Case Medium Stockman (3.5" closed) with yellow Delrin scales and CV blades. I never really warmed up to the look of this particular stockman. I also discovered that I REALLY HATE CASE YELLOW DELRIN, so I decided to have a little fun with it in my garage. The fit and finish was far from perfect so modifying it was an uphill battle as far as getting things to line up etc. The scales are now Gabon Ebony and the pins are nickel silver. I gave it new thicker fluted bolsters that are dovetailed with the scales. The blades and liners are original. I scrapped the Case shield.
I still need to do the final sanding and polishing, but here are some pictures of what she looks like so far.
