The Case dot system started in 1970. In 1970 there were 10 dots and one was removed each year. The dots were underneath the USA.
In the 80's this was done again but the dots were above the USA. In the 80's there was also a lightnig s in Case.
From 1990 to mid-1993 the actual date was stamped on the knives. In mid 1993 Case went to the dot system again. In 2000 they went to 5 Xs and 5 dots. From 2001 through 2005 one dot is removed. From 2006 through 2009 one X is removed.
