I have a special place in my heart for Case knives. My 1st pocketknife, given to me by my Grandfather, was a Case Fisherman with the yellow synthetic handle scales. Then I got older, got into other types of knives, and Case knives fell off the radar for me. When I started getting into traditional patterns again I of course started looking at Case knives. What I found was sort of a hit or miss situation. For the most part the quality was good, but it seemed there was still a chance to get one that was off. I found that if I was able to see them in person I stood a better chance of getting a good one. Of course growing up at my Grandfather's feet, I inherited his preference for the CV steel. While Case offers a huge selection of handle scale options for their stainless steel versions, there are only a few for the CV steel versions. Yellow Synthetic, Amber Bone, Chestnut Bone and Stag are it. I'd love to see them offer some CV patterns with their Bermuda Green Bone or Mediterranean Blue Smooth Bone scales.

Ok, basically I just want a Medium Jack in CV steel, with Mediterranean Blue Smooth Bone scales and the Oval Shield. :)

And I'd love to see Case offer some of their leather handled fixed blades in CV steel. The Drop Poinr Hunter and the Finn (both sizes) would be perfect in CV steel.

I right there with you on this. Tru-Sharp is okay, but there's just something about a good carbon steel blade.

I'd like to see more offerings in the CV steels, but many of their "brighter colors" make sense with the stainless. Peel Orange CV? Pass. I like to see the more traditional colors in CV. Dark Red Bone with Corn Cobb Jigging? Sweet. That Canyon Bone would look great in CV.

Carbon blades just have mojo.
