I bought this Case G10 stockman for my Dad for his birthday tomarow. He has caried buck 303's for as long as I can rember or at least someing close to a 303. I wanted to buy him a Hen and Rooster because when I was young I had lost one that he had bought the day he bought it. He never bought another. But when I looked at the Hen and Roosters I didnt think they were as high of quality as the Case I bought him. I may have just been looking at a few bad ones, I dont know they may not be the same as they use to be. But any how I think he will like it. Just wanted to see what you guys thought. Also if anybody can think of anything more fitting let me know, I still have untell tomarow. To be honist I am amazed at the quality of this Case knife, and I EDC a Sebenza.

For some reason the Image tag hates me.

G10 looks really good on the Case folders.

Don't be surprised if Dad treats your gift as too nice to use. Thats how my dad works, anyway. He still carries a beater Schrade 80T despite my gifts over the years.

Here's a G10 Peanut from my arsenal:

Cant think of a better gift to give or get love my G10 slimeline trapper !

I've got one of the Case Large Trappers with the G-10 scales and I really like it. To some, G-10 may be a non-traditional material for handles on a slippie like a Trapper or Stockman, but I think it looks very cool on my knife.

Sounds like your dad is going to be getting a nice gift. I have a large Case Trapper with Stag Handles, it was my first real quality knife. I like Case alot and IMO are Classics..

I agree with you, it looks really excellent on older style knives and patterns:thumbup:

In fact, all types of micarta look at home on traditional knives and they are hard wearing/practical.

I have a CASE Slimline Trapper(single blade) in G-10 and I'm very pleased with it. Another notable point about the CASE G-10 knives is that they come with brushed stainless blades rather than polished. This hides scratches much better and compliments the handles very well. A fine present for anybody.

Now if we just would get G-10 Stockman with S-30V blades... But that then would be quite violation of traditional. Though a traditional pattern with modern super steels and materials like G-10 and titanium would be nice.

I am looking myself Orange G-10 series from Case. Those are really nice.

I have a Case G-10 Humpback Whittler and I carry it everyday. It is the knife that I use 99% of the time. The satin machine finish on the black G-10's is really nice and I prefer it to the mirror finish they usually have, the finish also defines the blade's profile much better whereas a mirror finish tends to round the blade a little. Case quality has really come up since the 90's!:D:thumbup:

Btw, I say black G-10 has the satin blades because I have an orange G-10 large Gunstock, and it has the standard mirror polish blades.
