The color in Swayback jack is stunning and picture doesn't do justice.

Now Swayback jack was all tight and flawless. Its bit more expensive. It was also smaller than I expected. Feels very good and solid in my hand.

Canoe had side to side blade play but nothing that couldn't be fixed in a minute or two. Very solid now. Jigging feels good. My first Barnboard jigging.

Both had no gaps. Swayback's blades are dead center. Canoe has very minor blade rubbing. Both came razor sharp with even bevels.

That is the best looking color on a chestnut CV swayback I have seen.

nice goodies there jani

i feel the same way about the swayback jack. i sure wish case would make one or even two more sizes in this pattern. maybe something like a 3 1/2" and 3 3/4"

i would really like to hear your thoughts on the swayback compared to your GEC #25.... even better... a few side by side pics of them together would be awesome. i did a search but never found any pics of them together.

Welcome to the Sway Back Jack club. I totally love mine. I couldn't find anything wrong with it quality wise and it is just a wonderful pattern. You already know I am a canoe fan. Those are good blades man!

I would like to see Case move upscale a little on their stainless steel to say 440C or VG-10 on some of the most popular patterns. Not necessarily on everything, just a few of their best selling patterns. Oh well, if they don't I'm still a fan!!!

Northfield EZ-Open #25 in river blue bone with really nifty jigging.

The SBJ is a bit bigger, but the EZ-Open is, as is typical for most GEC patterns, very chunky and the lines of the Case make it feel smaller.

I'm really becoming a fan of the Canoe because of your posts. The Swayback is to me the classiest looking production folder.
Great choices!!!
