Case handle material?

The wife just got this for me and I have no clue what the handle material is. It seems to be stone of some kind. Sorry if this is an obvious question. Thanks

The tang stamp might give you a clue. Sometimes there is a letter indicating the scale material instead of the number in the normal Case model numbering. Or it might be a re-handle.--KV

Says USA 3318 CV looks to be from 2013

The first number is the cover material, and 3 means yellow synthetic. I guess it is a re-cover!
