Hey guys, what are your thoughts on this one? I can't seem to find anything about it. The tang stamp indicates 2010, and stainless steel. Do you think it's an SFO? Factory production or customized by someone after it was purchased? any thoughts or guesses?

Fort, I love the Hawkbill/Pruner knife and that one right there has the market cornered on Bling:thumbup:

Not sure if it's an SFO but I lean towards your mention of post customization.

I don't have any information but I'm guessing it was customized as well. I know I've never seen one like that before. It sure is flashy. Makes mine look rather drab.

Do you have that knife in hand, Fort?
Is that colorful pattern all inlayed??
Amazing looking Hawk!!

I don't have it in hand. It belongs to a friend of mine, not me. He picked it up at a gun show last week. Both, the design and the word "Case", are inlaid.

Drab, I say no way Rick, that's pure beauty right there my friend:thumbup: Most are jigged Pakkawood but yours is smooth, I like that!!!

I have to agree with you Paul. Simple and elegant! One of the best looking Hawkbills I've ever seen.

Very useful patterns. Although the embellishment on the hawkbill was aftermarket, Case did use some script shields and fancy inlay shields. Most of their cover materials are pinned rather than glued like the embellished hawkbill ...with one exception to the best of my knowledge (some of the Frost Corleon plastic covers were glued, not pinned).

Thanks for the compliments guys. My wife and I were out antiquing one spring weekend in 2010 and I saw the knife in a shop about 45 miles from home but I didn't buy it that day. I happened to be on vacation that following week so I hopped on the big two wheeler and took a cruise back to the shop and bought it. It was a gorgeous day that day. About 78 degrees, abundant sunshine, and light winds. Had a chance to clear my head and smell the roses, so to speak. Couldn't have asked for a better vacation day.

The memory of that day pleases me as much as the knife itself.
