I was at my local B&M today, don't remember heading out that way, but it was where I ended up at! Am I glad I did. There was a Humpback Whittler in Goldenrod bone that had just come in. I've been thinking about getting one since they were first introduced, but had never had a chance to see and hold one in my hand. It didn't take me two seconds, once in hand, to say SOLD! The fit/finish is excellent. All the blades are centered in their respective channels, the "walk and talk" is, again, excellent, and all three blades came hair-poppin' sharp and I mean they popped the hair off my arm. At 3 5/8" long in the closed position I will be carrying this one a while as it fits great in my left pocket, and will actually get about 99% of what I need a knife for. My right pocket knife is usually a larger single bladed, locking, pocket clipped knife, and actually see's very little use.....but I love to carry it! Anyway, the Case knives of the past 5 to 7 years have been getting better and better and I'm looking forward to more of these vintage patterns being introduced.
BTW, the Whittler has three backsprings and is listed as weighing 2.9 ounces, while the Humpback Stockman is listed as 2.5 ounces. Is this because the Stockman has 2 back springs instead of 3, or does it also have three backsprings? No big deal, just curious.
Anyone else have one of these great little knives?
