This piece of preposterous puzzlement was difficult to understand....even with my imagination....it seems to have been consigned to the bin. GOOD RIDDANCE to a bad policy....I was able to directly purchase a Case knife off an ebuy dealer with no drama....
Any of you non CONUS Porcheteers noticed this change...?

You may have got one that went through to the keeper, my old Case dealer, still implements the policy.

Sorry, i feel rude for not answering your post before i posted mine. Case stopped all international sales 2 years ago, either directly from Case or any of the dealer/retail outlets.🤝
Thanks, I hadn't known they did that. I carried a Sodbuster Jr for a year back in 2015 but I don't remember where I bought it, it wasn't in the US though if I remember right. Good though roughly finished knife but the steel didn't hold an edge worth a darn.

Edit, I bought it on ebay from the US to abroad. Just found the confirmation email. :)

Thanks for the replies guys.... Pomsbz Pomsbz yes its what cudgee cudgee said.
And yes Cudgee you may be right...but hey everybody hated the stupid policy anyway and mostly ignored it....just this time my purchase was seamless..yay for commonsense and boo to wartheaded xenophobia.

I don’t think it’s Xenophobia, to be fair. It’s a fear of foreigners owning Case knives... not sure what the official title is for that.

they probably instituted the rule because they didn’t want to have to worry about international returns on the scale that their domestic sales are currently experiencing.

I have a funny feeling Case will be closed or owned by someone new within the next decade. Maybe Aussies will buy it!

It's an interesting one, I can understand them not wanting to deal with export and support issues but banning companies from selling abroad when support would have been via the company (return to US obligatory) in any case is strange.

waynorth waynorth it was SS. I've carried Victorinox for my EDC for years now and it's not as soft as that Case steel was. I don't usually do carbon steel. I don't like patina, I don't like the care required and I really don't like the taste it imparts to my apples. :)

Once upon a time, itwas possible to buy Case knife at good price, ie, about the same as US dealer + shipping.
Here is what we have now:

I hope the new policy will put things back as they used to be... 🤔

Buying directly from factory has been kind of here and there for me. Seems that lots of them see online orders more as a nuisance. I always prefer to buy from knife shops because shipping knives is what they do and they care about their reputation. Some people just don't understand that the world ain't so slow as it was in the snail mail era.

I told you my inquiry was important to them:

Your inquiry obviously was important to them, but their reply seems somewhat ambiguous, given some of the info reported previously in this thread. I'd have found the reply more helpful if they had added a word to the end of "We have not stopped sales Internationally". For example, "ever" or "recently" or "today" or "eternally" or ...

Maybe your question reminded them of the old no-good-answer-question "Have you stopped beating your wife?"

I don't know. "We have not stopped sales internationally" doesn't sound very equivocal to me. Surprising, yes. Just passing it on.

That answer can be taken many ways and in any context. That is like a politicians answer. Technically they have not stopped international sales, i can buy them here from a couple of Case's licenced retail outlets, but limited selection and they can price them how ever they see fit, so no, they have not stopped international sales, technically. But i cannot purchase from an American licenced Case retailer, that i was told is Case policy. It is usually cheaper for me to purchase from America even taking into account exchange rate and postage, and have the whole Case range to choose from. One retailer here puts plenty of mayonnaise of their Case products, making them un-economical for me to purchase through. :)

I had not heard of this policy before, and it obviously does not effect me but it sure is a darn stupid one.
Sometimes I take for granted my ability to spend a little extra on one at the local hardware store or to order a Case during one of the many sales SHC is always having.
I like and have been happy with them, but I don't know how I'd feel if I were in a foreign country.

Hopefully this dumb policy whatever it actually happens to be is done away with.
