I've died and gone to heaven here !
I am ecstaticly happy with my most recent Case purchase ! ! !

You may think me overly effusive but you (very few of you ) haven't seen the horrors that I have seen . [ that is about fifteen years of consistent, yearly , Case knife purchasing , using and collecting . Over a hundred and some in the collection . Over thirty of this Case Trapper frame style alone ]

After seeing another member here with a Case Trapper in Dark Blue Jigged Bone that had the nice evenly dyed , dark blue scales that I wanted in my first
purchase . . .
Something told me to roll the dice again ! Order another one ! (after all it has been about seven years since I ordered my under dyed
asymetrical one ) . Surely they have learned to work with the blue dye by now . . .

Dang , dang , DANG !

Just what I wanted !

Just when I had finally , after years of optimism , resigned myself to a level of attention to detail by Case that is less than it could be . . .

This latest Case Trapper is freekin' perfect !

The blue dye in the jigged bone scales is just exactly what I want ! Nice and dark with just the right amount of black / super dark blue in the middle and only the most subtle hints at the edges of the original white bone . (I have another exact same model and color that I bought seven years ago that is just too lightly dyed with too much white bone ).

The grinding / polishing of the scales and bolsters and coloring are nicely even and symmetrical on this new one as well ! !

aaaaahhhhhhhh .

And the Blades !

The blades are even decently sharpened ; VERY TOOTHY ( not a plus for me ) but evenly sharpened all along the edge , no burs (! ! ! !) , no dings AND the points are even sharp not all rounded over and polished ( as was the old de rigueur ).
Not in over a decade have I received a Case Trapper with blades sharpened this well .

Edge sharpness from the factory has never been a big deal to me ; I put my own more extreme edge on any knife I buy in the first days of ownership anyway but it is knice to see Case getting on top of this cronic problem , for the general public .

But

if I had followed my original , intent at the change of the new year and REALLY stopped buying knives (stop laughing I was actually serious this time ) I would not have this little Grail ! I would have missed out on a simple and inexpensive opportunity that has brought me A LOT OF SATISFACTION !

Out of nearly six hundred knives in my collection , all of them users that I carry at one time or another , some of them ~ $600 each , the Case brand Trapper fits my hand the best and every time I pick one up and use it it is like coming home . Not super steel in the blade but one of the very best , most practical , knife styles ever made ! !

Only one example , admitedly , but I am saying :

Go Case Go !

Case seems to be very consistent with some patterns, and sadly not so much with some others
Their Barlows for example seem to be excellent, I haven't seen a bad example on the porch, and both mine were as good as I could hope for with perfect W&T.

Were the edges ground 100% perfect ?
The main blades were both ground excellently , the pen blades a little less so but all were razor sharp across the board.
For a person who just wants a user they might prefer that over a perfectly ground but not very sharp edge.

This one here is modified, but the factory quality still shows.

The carbon 1095 looks fantastic. Great EDC.
Case is definitely nailing them.
This one has significantly thicker covers than my other which fill out the hand very well and feel great, but the other being a bit slimmer tends to carry a bit better.

I’m with modoc. Pic is necessity.

Case can get it just right when they went to. I’ve got a small wharncliff trapper that is just about perfect.
I'm too cheep to buy a smart phone . Spent too much money on all that crap already .
Just going to have to use your imagination . It'll be even better that way anyway .
Or could look at the Image on a vendor page that sells 'em . Usually they look better than what shows up at one's door but this example is just like the image !

Point & shoot cameras do a good job and they cost very little these days due to the smartphone tyranny/hegemony ;)

I appreciate your enthusiasm
