Looks like Case has a 'new' pattern called the Junior Scout
that is coming out in April. Is it a new pattern or is it new to me?
Obviously it's a small version of the Scout pattern, but
has anyone seen these before?

Also, slightly off topic. Does anyone have the Queen/Robeson
Scout knife with the ATS-34 main blade? I can't find these
anywhere. :(

Looks like a revival of the old 64090 Junior Scout pattern. I wish they'd make the regular 3-3/4'' Scout with bone again instead of plastic. A CV scout with brown jigged bone, that would be nice. And with a clip blade instead of a spear point! Askin' too much, I know! :D

I agree ... Scout pattern is my absolute favorite.
A CV with nice natural material handles would rock!

I have a 1940s 'Made in Solingen' scout pattern that has
non-stainless blades. Probably 1095... but don't know.
It's a bit wobbly but it was the first knife and given
to me by my grandfather. anywho... I use a more
modern scout pattern for EDC .. Vic Soldier.

That being said I wish I could find a premium Scout pattern
that was as solid as the Vic but with a better blade steel.

Also... I think I'm going to start collecting the scout pattern since
I find myself seeking them out.

AG Russell 154CM, in bone. Excellent knife, though a bit tough to sharpen.

I wish Case did make the old full Scout pattern again, though. They've never made an "official" Scout, but that would just rock. CV, bone, just as it comes.

I saw the color poster for these Junior Scouts Sat. in a store, I am seriously considering the Sambar Stag or 6.5 Bonestag one!

This just makes me curious:
Is the Vic Soldier really regarded as a modern pattern in comparison with the Scout knife? And if yes, would this be a correct thing?
I mean, the Vic Soldier has been there since 1891, admittedly then not with alox sides and with the can opener of a different design than today, but anyway.
How long has the Scout knife been out there really?

First "official" BSA folder was 1922 by New York Knife Co, though there were unofficials since the very beginning in 1910.

Soooo, that means that the Scout pattern and the Vic Soldier is approximately of the same age.

I guess the fact that the Vic Soldier nowadays has alox handles makes it easy to perceive as being a more modern pattern.
When in fact it's actually equally old as (or even older than) the Scout. Only the handle material has changed.
Are there also Scout pattern knives with alox handles/scales as well? Or at least with handles/scales that are not stag/bone/wood?
