One chefs knife about 7 inches, one butcher pattern about 7 inches, and two carving knives with 7 inch blades. All are carbon steel, with a nice blued patina, and wood handles. The wood handles have been slathered with linseed oil over the course of 20 some years, and have a nice golden hue to them. One of the carving knives has a little chip out of the butt of the handle.
The kids gave us a knife block of Victorinox/Forschner knives some years ago, and these Case knives have been sitting in the drawer since. Since Karen likes the Victorinox knives better (nice shiney stainless blades and fibrox handles make them dishwasher safe) the Case knives need a new home. I figured with the talk of Case. I'd put these back into cirulation. Your post number will be your number, and I'll pick it out of a hat to keep it old fashioned. The hat will be a khaky bucket hat, if it matters.
The thing is, the kitchen is being remodeled, and Monday it's getting gutted. Since the computer station is in the breakfast nook, I'll be off line for a week or two after Monday. So Sunday night will be the end, and the draw. These are good knives, and will be a great additon to a kitchen.
