I have a two-fold question about my case knife. It is a 3 blade stockman knife made in 1981. The stamped number is 63032. According to the handle material ID on the Case website; it is either Jigged Bone, Jigged Synthetic, or Jigged Laminate.

Does anybody know how I can determine which one it is?

My other question has to do with the shield on my knife. The CASE logo is encircled. I have seen shields on other knives where the CASE logo is NOT encircled. Does that have any meaning?

Take a decent magnifying lens and examine the scales,if you see tiny holes it's most likely bone. The other materials should be solid

Usually, but not always, the circle shield was used on bone handled knives. Again, post pictures......
