I have a case knife that one of the scales was broke and I would like to have one put on it. Where do I start?

Contact CASE customer service folks.....I don't know the number or URL, but they are proud enough of their knives, that they ought to be able to help you out....

I am a CASE folder nut even though I am a maker of handmades.....

Thanks John. I just fired off an email to them. Its a old knife (#6231 1/2) so I'm curois what they will say.

Dear Valued Case Customer,

You will need to return your Case knife to our repair center for evaluation. All our products are covered by a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY against defects in workmanship and materials. Our warranty does not cover normal wear, missing parts, accidents, altering, theft, loss, misuse or neglect.

Send your knife to CASE REPAIR CENTER, OWENS WAY , BRADFORD , PA 16701 . Include your name, address, phone number and specific repair instructions. Be sure to let us know if your knife has sentimental value. Also, we recommend that you insure your package. Please allow 7-8 weeks for servicing. You will be contacted by mail if any charges apply. We do our best to repair all our knives, however, we no longer have parts for discontinued patterns and if the knife is a current pattern but very old, it is possible that the new parts will not fit. All repairs are made with 2007 parts.

Some non-warranty fees…FOLDING BLADES - $10.00 ea.
PLASTIC COVERS - $10.00 ea.
BONE COVERS - $12.00 ea.
SHIPPING & HANDLING - $7.50

Sincerely,

I might be wrong, but I suspect this is just a boilerplate reply.

You may end up getting the knife fixed for free, I have heard a lot of good things about American knife companies and their repair work/costs.
