Case Knife Sizers

Seems to me that it’s tradition, the original patterns set such as the stockman set the standard, if it’s bigger than usual it’s a jumbo, if smaller than usual, it’s a small or tiny.

If smaller than 3.5 inch they tend towards being called small or mini, the 3.5-3.75 medium, up near 4 inch large or regular, and over 4.25 jumbo.

What delineates a Large from a medium or a small Case Knife, other than of course the name.
Sizes are relative. Case knives are made in many different sizes. Whats larger than one knife may be smaller than another.....Mostly depends on what exactly you are asking about......
