Case knife with incorrect tang stamp.

I just received Case Medium Stockman (Blue bone with red shielsd - number 63032 made in 2023). Its a good knife but the tang on the sheeps foot blade is is incorrectly etched 62032, which refers to a completely different model. Has any come across this before?

Yes, the box is correct and I do keep my boxes. The blade tangs are now etched and not stamped on this years Cas knives. I reckon someone pressed the wrong button on the etching machine. Thats Case quality control for you.

You are probably spot on on the QC.
Case has a high turnover rate of help. 😞

is that blade used on the other knife it's labeled as? reason I ask is they maybe using up stock and getting rid of inventory.....

No it’s not. The 62032 uses a clip and pen blades not the Sheepsfoot.😮

gotcha. so typo or clicked wrong numbering input or forgot to change it from last batch made on the etching, something like that......then most likely
 
Check for an upside-down biplane as well.

Could be worth a pretty penny.
